BehavioR and Personality Assessment, BPH

Honey did BPH with gunshot at the age of 12 months and 29 days and in the chart you can see her test summary compared to the breed average. I have tried to translate it to English but it is best understood by reading the full protocol (in Swedish) here.

The purpose of BPH is to contribute to increased knowledge about dogs’ mentality. It is aimed at breeders and at individual dog owners who wants to learn more about their dog’s mental characteristics.

It takes place on a standardized course where the dog gets to experience different situations. The dog’s reactions are described and together they give an idea of the dog’s mentality and personality. The handler, usually the dog owner, walks the course with the dog and gets information along the course from the test leader.

Feminine head but a somewhat snipy muzzle. Nice ears. Good length of neck in spite of a straight shoulder. Muscular back. The arch of the loin starts too early and the croup is steep. Muscular, wide thighs. Good underline but the chest could be deeper. Good legs and feet. More angled in the back than in the front which affects the movements. Well presented.

Young female of good size. Snipy muzzle, good ears. The neck is thick but of okey length. Prominent shoulder, nice topline and straight upper arm. Good underline but the chest could've been deeper. Enough thigh width and corrects proportions in the rear. Long, nice tail that is carried high in movement. Short stride from the side. Moves narrowly both in front and rar.
