About Kennedy

Kennedy is a dream come true – a slowly growing and expanding dream of an American whippet – that was my future focus but then the opportunity presented itself earlier than I had hoped and I got the chance to book a puppy from a spectacular pair of parents and a from a breeder – Jenna – with the same hopes, goals, ambitions and values that I have regarding dog breeding. I waited and waited, and luck went my way as there was a male in the litter that fulfilled all my wishes, and in February 2024 I flew to the US to bring him home!

Kennedy is my soul dog – he is very attuned to me and I have never met a whippet with such will to please and to work. He loves training and has a practically never-ending supply of mental energy and stamina but is still such a calm and put together dog. He loves sleeping upside down and frequently takes the bed all for himself during the day when it’s unoccupied.

Behavior and Personality Assessment, BPH

Kennedy did BPH with gunshot at the age of 17 months and 3 days and in the chart you can see his test summary compared to the breed average. I have tried to translate it to English but it is best understood by reading the full protocol (in Swedish) here.

The purpose of BPH is to contribute to increased knowledge about dogs’ mentality. It is aimed at breeders and at individual dog owners who wants to learn more about their dog’s mental characteristics.

It takes place on a standardized course where the dog gets to experience different situations. The dog’s reactions are described and together they give an idea of the dog’s mentality and personality. The handler, usually the dog owner, walks the course with the dog and gets information along the course from the test leader.

Much too big male with masculine head and nice ears. Long but thick neck. Correct topline and correct underline but a too shallow chest. Moderately angled all around. Straight upper arm, needs to fill out in thre front. Moves excellently all around but with a high tail.
